Operational SMS and Marketing Consent Terms
Text messages are not enabled merely because a phone number is submitted. When the requester selects text as a preferred contact method, the form requires consent for operational messages about that specific service request. Marketing consent is separate and optional.

Build a service requestOperational service-request messages
Operational messages may include a request acknowledgement, questions needed to confirm coverage, scheduling communication, access coordination and service follow-up. They do not create an appointment, quote or emergency response until confirmed.
The final business must publish its legal name, messaging number, expected frequency, carrier-rate notice, HELP/STOP handling and support contact before text messaging is activated.
Marketing consent remains separate
The marketing checkbox is not selected by default and is not required to request service. Consent records should retain the wording, source, timestamp and contact information sufficient to demonstrate the choice.
Promotional messages must identify the sender and provide a working unsubscribe mechanism in accordance with the rules that apply. Withdrawing marketing consent must not cancel necessary service communications already requested.
Safety and message delivery limits
SMS is not monitored as an emergency channel unless the operating company expressly documents otherwise. Gas, carbon-monoxide, fire, smoke and immediate electrical hazards require current official emergency guidance.
Mobile networks can delay or fail to deliver messages. Customers should use the verified contact method for time-sensitive changes once it is published.
